Introducing Videos Games! (aka. Keeping Myself Accountable)

Only a couple of short years ago, my only knowledge of what a video game was were the mobile games that I would sometimes play in my free time. As such, I didn’t really see video games as offering much, instead, they simply acted as time-wasters for people who didn’t really feel like doing much else. While I certainly had friends who played “real” video games, my previous introduction to video games made it difficult for me to see the value in them.

At least, at first, I had a hard time seeing the value.

Over time, I began to get exposed to the different kinds of video games that the world had to offer. While my first introduction to the idea of video games may have simply been Angry Birds and Cut the Rope, I soon began to see the beauty and meaning present within this once meaningless medium.

Now, I originally intended to make this a full article that I would complete tonight and share with the world, but I realized while writing it that this is a topic that I actually really care about and anything that I jot down in the next hour won’t be reflective of my true thoughts. So rather than this being a “true” article, I am rather going to publish this as a commitment to myself to use this next week to try and truly explore this topic in a way that satisfies my expectations. This isn’t meant to be read, and likely won’t be mentioned again.

A bit of a cop-out, but one that I think it made from the correct place.
